On May 23, 2006, the Board of Supervisors amended and approved the release of the Request for Proposals from Consultants to perform a comprehensive General Plan/Zoning Ordinance Update and Environmental Impact Report for Butte County. This RFP is now available on the buttegeneralplan.net website.

The Board also approved the concept of creating a Citizens Advisory Committee (formerly referred to as Steering Committee) and Application Form. The Application Form is now available on the website or a copy can be mailed upon request. The application deadline will be in approximately 45-60 days (stay tuned for the final date). If you're considering applying for the Citizens Advisory Committee, I would encourage you to download this application ASAP and start completing it (it's 6 pages long).

The Board approved the creation of a two-member subcommittee of the Board of Supervisors to assist the Department of Development Services throughout the General Plan/Zoning Ordinance Update process. The two members appointed are Supervisors Josiassen and Dolan.

The Board also briefly reviewed the Working Draft Framework of Guiding Principles. They decided to have more review and discussion of these DRAFT Principles at their next meeting on June 13, 2006.
