Hi Everyone:
This is a reminder concerning Butte County’s
upcoming Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) kick-off
meetings. The meeting dates are Thursday, November
16th from 5:00pm to
9:00pm and Thursday, December 7th from 5:00pm to
9:00pm.
Both meetings will be held at the Butte College
cafeteria
(main college). Please check the website at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net for the DRAFT agenda
and
directions. Butte County staff, the Board of
Supervisors
sub-committee and the consultant team, Design
Community and
Environment (DC&E), are looking forward to meeting
with you
all. After these two initial kick-off meetings we
anticipate setting the schedule for the eight major
public
workshops to be hosted by the Citizens Advisory
Committee.
The first public workshop is tentatively scheduled
for
March 2007.
Development Services staff is also planning a
City/County
Summit meeting for the end of January, 2007. This
Summit
Meeting is being held as an important part of our
General
Plan Update process to ensure coordination on key
issues,
opening lines of communication, and discussing all
jurisdictions plans for updating their General
Plans. Our
process anticipates individual one-on-one meetings
with key
city/town staff, leaders and the County after the
summit
meeting. Butte County’s General Plan consultant
David
Early, with Design, Community & Environment, will
facilitate the Summit meeting and subsequent
individual
meetings. Stay tuned on more updates about this
important
process.
