Hi everyone:
Just a quick note to remind you of our second
Citizens
Advisory Committee meeting for the Butte County
General
Plan/Zoning Ordinance Update, this Thursday,
December 7,
2006 at Butte College (main campus Cafeteria), from
5-9 pm.
The agenda (and map) can be downloaded at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net. This meeting will
include
a discussion of, and comment on, the Draft Framework
of
Guiding Principles. Committee members' photos will
also be
reviewed and discussed showing members' likes and
dislikes
about Butte County. Additionally, an overview will
be
provided by Design, Community & Environment on the
eight
major tasks that the Citizens Advisory Committee
will be
involved in over the next 2 years (Existing
Conditions and
Issue Identification, Development of Alternatives,
Alternatives Evaluation and Selection, Goals and
Policies
Development, Draft General Plan Elements, Housing
Element,
and Key Zoning Issues).
As we have promised from the beginning, this effort
is an
open, public process, and everyone who is interested
in
taking this journey is encouraged to attend.
However, so
there is no misunderstanding, this meeting is
designed to
focus on gathering the Citizens Advisory Committee's
input
on the DRAFT Guiding Principles prepared by the
Board of
Supervisors. The public is invited to observe their
efforts toward this goal.
This is NOT the meeting for expressing public input
about
what the new General Plan should include or not
include.
Stay tuned for more announcements concerning the
first
Public Workshop to be held in March 2007 concerning
Butte
County's Existing Conditions and Issue
Identification,
where the real public input process begins.

seeing you at Butte College.
