Hi everyone: We are 8 months into our 3 year
project known as Butte County General Plan 2030.
Here's what's next on our agenda.
1) Unincorporated Gridley and Biggs Area-Wide
Workshop this Monday, May 7th
This Monday, May 7th, the public is invited to
participate in and provide input on issues,
opportunities and
constraints specific to the unincorporated
Gridley/Biggs area of Butte County, covering the
area generally bounded by the Richvale Highway to
the north, Larkin Road to the east, and the county
boundary to the west and south, as part of the
General Plan 2030 update. Public input from this
workshop will be used to guide the development of
land use and policy alternatives that pertain to
this area for Butte County General Plan 2030. The
workshop will take place on Monday from 6 to 9 pm at
the Gridley/Biggs Hospital Annex Building, located
at 240 Spruce Street in Gridley.
The workshop agenda will include a presentation on
the existing conditions for the unincorporated
Gridley/Biggs area, and issues raised at the Public
Workshop that was held on March 15, 2007 and the
Citizens Advisory Committee meeting that was held on
March 29, 2007. Following this presentation,
workshop participants will break out into small
groups and identify specific issues and areas of
change in the unincorporated Gridley/Biggs area,
followed by a larger group discussion.
This area-wide workshop is the third in a series of
workshops focused on identifying issues and change
areas that are specific to various areas around
Butte County, aimed at gathering input on the
development of alternatives for General Plan 2030.
2) Board of Supervisors General Plan 2030 Study
Session on Tuesday, May 8th at 1:30 pm
This coming Tuesday, May 8th, the Board of
Supervisors will review and discuss the information
developed through Workshop Series #1 – Issues
Identification. This will include a review of
material from the Public Workshop, Citizens Advisory
Committee & Planning Commission as well as comments
provided via email and the Butte County General Plan
Online Discussion Forum. Also included are some
Development Services staff identified issues. This
is a vital step in the Workshop Series process.
This is the point where we make sure that we have
captured all of the information necessary to
incorporate into the next Workshop Series
regarding the Development of Alternatives. For more
