Butte County General
Plan 2030 - Announcements |
Hi everyone:
Work continues on Butte County General Plan 2030. Here
are some important things for all of you to be aware of:
1) Our next Public Meeting is the Citizens Advisory
Committee meeting on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Chico
State Campus, Sylvester’s Dining Hall, Room 100 (located
behind Kendall Hall) from 5-9 pm. We will work to
finalize
a list of Geographic Change Area alternatives and Policy
alternatives. Check out
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net/ebinder/2007/2007-08-02
.
2) SAVE THE DATE: On Monday, October 15, 2007,
Butte County will sponsor the 2007 General Plan 2030
Economic
Summit. It will be an all day event held at the Sierra
Nevada Brewery in Chico. The agenda will include an
overview of Economic Development and its connection to Butte
County General Plan 2030. The Economic Summit will provide
new information as well as several interesting speakers. You
will also have a chance to provide some input into shaping
Butte County's future. The cost will be $35, which will
include a light breakfast and lunch. Mark your calendar now
and stay tuned for further information. Visit
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net/ebinder/2007/2007-10-15
for more information.
3) On Thursday, August 02, 2007, staff will release
the PUBLIC DRAFT of the Butte County General Plan 2030
'Setting
and Trends Report'. This document will provide the
existing setting for the EIR for Butte County General Plan
2030. Please note that when the document is released
(it is 19 chapters and about 1,000 pages) on our website on
Friday, August 03, 2007, staff is requesting the public's
participation in the review of this document to assist us in
making it as accurate as possible so that when it is adopted
in September 2009 with the General Plan 2030, it will have
had significant public review and comment. CDs will be
available for free upon request to Dan Breedon.
Printed copies will be available at print shops (for the
cost of copying) throughout the county.
4) In-between meetings, people might be wondering what
Butte County staff and DC&E are working on. To give
you a
quick snapshot of our continuing efforts, you can now visit
our new Butte GP 2030 Journal. Check it out at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net/work/results_page.asp .
In other announcements, the Butte County General Public is
invited to give input to the Butte County Resource
Conservation District Board of Directors: 2007 GENERAL
STAKEHOLDER MEETING, August 29, 2007, 9-12 am at the
Feather River Tribal Health, 2145 5th Avenue, Oroville, CA
95965. Written input should be addressed to: BC-RCD,
150
Chuck Yeager Way, Suite A, Oroville, CA 95965, Or, BC-RCD@carcd.org
