Hello Everybody:
I have some important dates and events to share with
you as
we continue forward with the Butte County General
Plan 2030
process:
1) The following time and place is set for the
Citizen
Advisory Committee's (CAC) third meeting devoted to
the
development of Alternatives:
CAC Meeting #3 (Meeting Series #2/3-2C)
Thursday, September 6, 2007, 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Little Chico Creek Elementary School
2090 Amanda Way
Chico, CA 95928
At this meeting, the CAC will continue the
development of
alternatives they started on August 2nd, and review
an
additional 6 change areas comprising approx. 20,000
acres
proposed by Loafer Creek LLC, as well as an
additional
change area provided from Hall and Isom Investment
Company
for approx. 3,000 acres of property located in
Little Chico
Creek Canyon, south of Forest Ranch. We will also
continue with our analysis of the transportation and
bicycle alternatives, and the policy document.
Staff has also rescheduled the Planning Commission
and
Board of Supervisors Study Session for Meeting
Series #2/3,
the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors
will be
reviewing input from the May 17, 2007 Public
Workshop and
the 3 CAC meetings devoted to Alternatives
Development on
the following dates and times:
Planning Commission Study Session, 25 County Center
Drive,
Oroville, Friday, September 28, 2007, 9:00 am.
Board of Supervisors Study Session, 25 County Center
Drive,
Oroville, Tuesday, October 16, 2007, 9:00 am.
** PLEASE NOTE that the August 17, 2007 Planning
Commission
Study Session and the September 18 Board of
Supervisors
Study Session have been cancelled and replaced by
the above
two dates.
2) The Butte County General Plan 2030
Economic
Summit has
been scheduled and all of you who are interested
in Butte County’s economic future are invited to
attend. A
GREAT agenda is on tap for this meeting. The charge
for
this meeting, which includes lunch and refreshments,
is
$35.00. Please register TODAY at:

Meeting time and place is as follows (more

Butte County General Plan 2030 Economic Summit
Sierra
Nevada Brewery, Big Room, 1075 E. 20th St, Chico,
CA,
Monday, October 15, 2007, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
3) Two workshops, hosted by the Butte County
Association
of Governments, will take place regarding the Butte
Regional Habitat Conservation Plan/Natural
Communities
Conservation Plan (Butte Regional HCP/NCCP). This
is an
opportunity to learn more about the Habitat
Conservation
Planning process and how that process can compliment
Butte
County’s own General Plan 2030 process. Both of
these
workshops will cover the same information, one is
being
held in Oroville, the other in Chico for your
convenience.
Refreshments will be provided at the workshops. All
community members are encouraged to attend. For more

4) We have released a Public Draft of the Butte
County
General Plan 2030
Setting and Trends Report. This
document, which is a snapshot of Butte County today
and
will be used as the baseline for our Environmental
Impact Report (EIR), is
available on
our website for download or via an email request to
dbreedon@buttecounty.net. He will mail you a CD of
the
1,100 pages that is packed with great information
about
Butte County. Also, when you review this material,
please
also forward any comments to
