Hello Everybody:
The following list provides
some reminders and some new information concerning
the Butte County General Plan 2030 process:
1) The following time and
place is set for the Citizens Advisory Committee’s
(CAC) third meeting devoted to reviewing potential
Change Areas and creating the 'bookend' of
Alternatives:
Citizens Advisory Committee
Meeting #3 (Meeting Series #2/3) Thursday, September
6, 2007, 5:00pm – 9:00pm Little Chico Creek
Elementary School 2090 Amanda Way Chico, CA 95928
Why are we having this
additional CAC Meeting?
The Citizens Advisory
Committee requested an additional meeting to finish
up the creation of the General Plan 2030
alternatives. Additionally, close to 10,000 acres of
potential change areas had been submitted by Loafer
Creek, LLC, for four areas of the County. Since that
time, another 2 potential change areas have been
submitted, one by Hall and Isom Investments for
approximately 4,200 acres of land east of Chico, and
another by Mark Habib for approximately 880 acres
north of Butte Valley. These potential change areas
were considered by Development Services staff and
the General Plan consultant Design, Community &
Environment (DC&E). DC&E incorporated these
additional potential change areas into the
Alternatives for consideration by the Citizens
Advisory Committee. The CAC will also be continuing
with their review of the Transportation and Bicycle
Alternatives, and the Policy Alternatives Document
that will be used during the Alternatives Selection
process, Meeting Series #4. The public is welcome to
attend all CAC meetings.

part of the General Plan 2030 process or if you have

6) 1 on 1 City/County Meeting
Notes now on Website
Cooperative Planning is one of
the 13 Guiding Principles intended to guide the
Butte County General Plan 2030 process. As you may
be aware, the General Plan 2030 City/County Summit
Meeting held on January 27, 2006 was followed by
individual "1 on 1" meetings with each the 5
incorporated cities located within Butte County. All
of the individual "1 on 1" meetings between the
County and the cities have now been completed and
notes from all of these meetings have been posted to
the General Plan 2030 website for public viewing.
Development Services staff is scheduling additional
follow-up meetings on issues that have been brought
up through this process, such as coordination on
City Spheres of Influence, future growth areas, and
revenue sharing for areas considered for future
annexation. Because many of these jurisdictions are
updating their own General Plans it is critical for
the County to work with each city as new information
becomes available.
