Hi Everyone:

The big news about Butte County General Plan 2030 is that we have released our Alternatives Evaluation Report (yes, sorry, it’s 736 pages). This report evaluates 9 different constraints for each of the 34 study areas and 3 Alternatives that are under review in Workshop Series #4.

This information is intended to help the public discussion/debate regarding the formation of a recommendation to the Butte County Board of Supervisors about what Study Areas/Alternative should become the Preferred Alternative. The Preferred Alternative will be the basis for the development of the new General Plan (along with the Policies developed in Workshop Series #5).

As you can imagine, this is a critical and difficult part of our journey. That’s why it’s important that you read this document so that you can engage in the public discussion/debate. You can request a CD be mailed to you by sending an email to dbreedon@buttecounty.net and/or view it online now at:

http://www.buttegeneralplan.net/products/aer (please read the tips on where to start)

The first meeting on Workshop Series #4 and probably the best one for the general public to give early input, will be held Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at the Little Chico Creek Elementary School, 2090 Amanda Way, Chico, starting at 5 pm.

For the most up to the minute information about this report and Workshop Series #4 (and other announcements), please visit http://www.buttegeneralplan.net today.

We look forward to seeing you soon, Tim
