Meeting Series #4 Alternatives Evaluation and Selection (Task F) | How does this workshop work?

This was a very important meeting for public participation.  This was a great opportunity in Workshop Series #4 to provide input.  This input will be provided for review and discussion by the Citizens Advisory Committee at their meetings in April 2008.  We had between 130-140 people attend this meeting.

From this meeting series County staff and the DC&E team will obtain final direction on a preferred land use alternative. At the community workshop, DC&E will present the alternatives evaluation and facilitate small group discussions to gather public input on alternative preference. After hearing public input on the alternatives, the Citizens Advisory Committee will provide County staff and DC&E with their input as to their preferred alternative. While the preferred alternative may be one of those presented, it is more likely that it will comprise a hybrid of components from more than one alternative. County staff and DC&E will then present the Citizens Advisory Committee’s recommendation to the Planning Commission for their review, input and recommendation. The Board of Supervisors will provide final direction regarding the preferred alternative. Based on feedback from the Board of Supervisors, County staff and DC&E will make any needed refinements to create the final preferred alternative.
