Brief Meeting Summary:
Tim Snellings reviewed the Brown Act Open Meeting Law with the
Citizens Advisory Committee to clarify internal communication rules
amongst members and the requirement for Public Comment at each
meeting. Dan Breedon, reviewed the remaining 4 Study Areas and
the CAC voted on each (Study Areas 14, 10, 17 & 18). In the
end, they voted unanimously to forward their completed product to
the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors. The
discussion on Workshop Series #4 continues at the
Planning Commission on May 09,
2008. <posted

We didn't quite finish
reviewing and discussing the Study Areas and Alternatives at the
last meeting on May 1, 2008. After nearly 6 hours, we ran
out of time. This meeting was added to
allow time for the CAC to complete their review of the
Alternatives. Since this meeting is a continuation of the
deliberations of the CAC from the meeting of May 01, 2008, there
will not be time allocated for Public Comment.
(NOTE: We are planning about 1 1/2 hours
for public comment at the Planning Commission the very next day,
Friday, May 09, 2008 -
Workshop Series #4-3A)
Meeting Series #4
Alternatives Evaluation and Selection (Task F)
This is the final meeting of the CAC to review their
information prior to forwarding their
recommendations to the Planning
Commission on each Study Area/Alternative.
From this meeting
series County staff and the DC&E team will obtain
final direction on a preferred land use alternative.
At the community workshop, DC&E will present the
alternatives evaluation and facilitate small group
discussions to gather public input on alternative
preference. After hearing public input on the
alternatives, the Citizens Advisory Committee will
provide County staff and DC&E with their input as to
their preferred alternative. While the preferred
alternative may be one of those presented, it is
more likely that it will comprise a hybrid of
components from more than one alternative. County
staff and DC&E will then present the Citizens
Advisory Committee’s recommendation to the Planning
Commission for their review, input and
recommendation. The Board of Supervisors will
provide final direction regarding the preferred
alternative. Based on feedback from the Board of
Supervisors, County staff and DC&E will make any
needed refinements to create the final preferred
alternative.
