Meeting Series #4 Alternatives Evaluation and Selection (Task F)

This is a critical meeting for public participation.  This is the meeting for the Board of Supervisors to finalize the study areas to be included in the Preliminary Preferred Alternative.  They will review input from the Planning Commission (meetings held on June 13, 2008, May 30, 2008 and May 09, 2008), the CAC (five meetings) and a general public meeting held on March 27, 2008 regarding alternatives, constraints and study areas.

From this meeting series County staff and the DC&E team will obtain final direction on a preferred land use alternative. At the community workshop, DC&E will present the alternatives evaluation and facilitate small group discussions to gather public input on alternative preference. After hearing public input on the alternatives, the Citizens Advisory Committee will provide County staff and DC&E with their input as to their preferred alternative. While the preferred alternative may be one of those presented, it is more likely that it will comprise a hybrid of components from more than one alternative. County staff and DC&E will then present the Citizens Advisory Committee’s recommendation to the Planning Commission for their review, input and recommendation. The Board of Supervisors will provide final direction regarding the preliminary preferred alternative. Based on feedback from the Board of Supervisors, County staff and DC&E will make any needed refinements to create the final preferred alternative.
