Development Phase of Butte County General Plan 2030
(Meeting Series 5)
Goals and Policy Development
(Meeting Series 5) is scheduled to begin with a
Public Workshop on Monday, September 8, 2008.
The Board of Supervisors also recently approved the
dates of January 21 and 22, 2009 for holding their
two Study Sessions on this Meeting Series. The
following shows the schedule of meetings associated
with this Meeting Series, including the CAC’s

3) Butte County General Plan
2030 Draft Format Approved by the Board of
Supervisors
On July 24th the Planning
Commission met regarding the organization and format
of the draft General Plan. Planning Manager Chuck
Thistlethwaite presented the work results of the
June 5th Citizens Advisory Committee meeting on this
topic to the Planning Commission. After extensive
discussion, the Planning Commission concurred with
the Citizens Advisory Committee recommendations
regarding the draft General Plan format, and
forwarded this recommendation to the Board of
Supervisors. The Board considered this information
on August 19, 2008, and also voted to approve the
draft General Plan format as recommended.
The Draft format for Butte
County General Plan 2030, as recommended by the
Citizens Advisory Committee and Planning Commission,
and approved by the Board of Supervisors is as
follows (the order of the elements below was not
part of the approval and can be further refined as
part of the workshop series of development of goals
and policies):
