Hello Everybody:
The final two meetings devoted
to Goals and Policy Development for Butte County
General Plan 2030 (Workshop Series 5) are scheduled
to take place on Wednesday, February 18 and
Thursday, February 19, 2009. The Board of
Supervisors will be making decisions on a broad
spectrum of policy topics that will be incorporated
into Butte County General Plan 2030. Each of these
meetings will be divided into morning and afternoon
sessions, and will be devoted to the policy topics
listed below:
February 18, 2009, 9:00 am
to 5:00 pm
Morning Session (9:00am to
Noon):
-Economic Development
-Agriculture
Afternoon Session (1:00pm
to 5:00pm):
-Urban Growth Boundaries
-County Character, New
Development & Housing
-Regional & Local Coordination
-Community Health & Safety
-Noise
February 19, 2009, 9:00 am
to 5:30 pm
Morning Session (9:00am to
Noon):
-Cultural Resources & Tribal
Coordination
-Parks & Recreation
-Trails
-Natural Resources & Habitat
-Green Building, Greenhouse Gases & Energy
Afternoon Session (1:00pm
to 4:00pm):
-Water Resources
-Transportation & Circulation
-Scenic Highways
-Utilities & Public Services
-Airports
Preferred Land Use
Alternative
Final Refinements (4:00pm to 5:30pm):
-Needed refinements to the
Preferred Land Use Alternative and Map will be
reviewed and approved by the Board.
Each Study Session will start
at 9:00 am and end at approximately 5:00 pm and will
take place at the Butte County Board of Supervisors
Board Chambers, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville.
The Board of Supervisors’ Study Sessions are open to
the public who are encouraged to come and speak to
the Board of Supervisors concerning the Goal and
Policy Development phase of Butte County General
Plan 2030.
The Board of Supervisors will
review both the Planning Commission’s and Citizens
Advisory Committee’s recommendations for Goal and
Policy Development, as well as all public input
received during this process, and take final action
on the development of Goals and Policies. The Board
of Supervisors will also address the Transportation
Alternatives and make final adjustments to the
Preferred Land Use Alternative.
