Hello Everyone:
1) Just a short note to let
you know that Draft #3 of the Butte County General
Plan 2030 Land Use Map that shows the General Plan
designations for the entire unincorporated portion
of Butte County is available on our website at the
following link:
Link from the homepage at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net
OR directly at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net/products/2009-04-23PLUA_draft3/default.asp .
This General Plan 2030 Land
Use Map was approved by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors on April 14, 2009. Several Exhibit Maps
have been created to view different portions of the
Final Land Use Map:
- Countywide Map #1 (best
resolution, but larger file, good for viewing
close in areas)
- Countywide Map #2 (less
resolution, but smaller file, good for viewing
general areas)
- Biggs-Gridley Area
- Chico Area
- Oroville Area
- Paradise Area
- Berry Creek
- Deer Herd Overlay Map
These maps are in a PDF file
format, and can be opened with the Adobe Acrobat
Reader. Each of these maps allows you to “zoom” in
on specific areas to show more detail. If you are
interested in specific areas, it is recommended that
you open the map for that area. If you want the very
best resolution to view close-in detail, Countywide
Map #1 should be used, although it is a larger file
and will take longer to download.
2) You might want to mark
your calendar for a special meeting of the Board of
Supervisors and Planning Commission on Friday, May
29, 2009 from 9:00 am until noon. This meeting will
focus on issues regarding an update to Butte
County's Housing Element. More details are
available at
http://www.buttegeneralplan.net
.
3) Two important series of
meetings are coming up that pertain to both the
first Draft of Butte County General Plan 2030 and
the new Zoning Ordinance. The Draft Butte County
General Plan 2030 and the Draft Zoning Ordinance
will be available for public review this summer.
Look for website postings and emails that will
detail meeting dates and links to the upcoming Draft
documents.
