Hi everyone:
1) Thanks to the hard work and
persistence of the citizens of Butte County, our
Citizens Advisory Committee, the Planning
Commission, the Board of Supervisors, County staff
and a great consultant team…work continues this
summer on Butte County General Plan 2030.
We are in a very exciting
phase of our process. County staff is reviewing an
Administrative DRAFT of Butte County General Plan
2030. Yes, after 35 months of "sailing towards our
destination"…a new General Plan, we are reviewing
the actual FIRST DRAFT of the new General Plan.
We are eager to complete this
process of error checking and release a "clean copy"
to the public in August…please stay tuned. Our plan
is that we will follow the document release with the
public review/discussion/debate about this DRAFT
product in September. This will begin Workshop
Series 7, DRAFT General Plan 2030 review. As with
the previous Workshop Series, this will begin with a
Public Workshop, followed by several Citizens
Advisory Committee meetings and concluded with
several joint meetings of the Board of
Supervisors/Planning Commission. We'll announce the
meeting dates soon...please stay tuned.
2) We are planning to complete
Workshop Series 6, adoption of our interim Housing
Element, on August 25, 2009 with the Board of
Supervisors.
