2010-07-27 (Tuesday) Board of Supervisors Meeting on General Plan 2030 corrections and five requests

Meeting Purpose:  To review several staff supported clean-ups to the DRAFT General Plan 2030 map and consider five property owner requests that do not have an impact on the Draft EIR.

Quick Summary:  The Board of Supervisors approved staff's recommendations with the exception of parcels impacted by the Deer Herd Overlay and made some text modifications to a few areas of the General Plan.  They will re-consider those parcels and others on August 24, 2010 at 1 pm.  Please stay tuned for a more detailed summary.

REQUESTED ACTION:

Butte County Department of Development Services staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors take the following actions:
1. Approve staff supported clean-ups to the General Plan 2030 Land Use Map.
2. Provide direction to staff on the five individual property owner requests.
3. Approve the following specific requests concerning General Plan 2030 language and the Land Use Map as
follows:
a. Include a new Action item directing the development of a planning strategy for the Butte Creek Canyon area;
additionally include new background information on the importance of salmon fisheries in Butte Creek.
b. Make corrections and amendments related to Timber Resources as requested by Sierra Pacific Industries.
c. Change the designation near Southside Oroville to accommodate a multi-family housing development
project
