Hello Everyone:

1) Public Workshop and Notice of Availability of Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance and Map

A Public Workshop will be held concerning the Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map that has been prepared in coordination with the Butte County General Plan 2030 update process. The new Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map is NOW available for public review on-line at http://www.buttegeneralplan.net , at all Butte County Branch Libraries, and at the Development Services Department, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville. In addition, free CDs containing the new Draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map will be available on July 2 by contacting Development Services at 538-7629 or by emailing dbreedon@buttecounty.net . New zoning information may also be obtained for individual parcels or areas through the Butte County Department of Development Services Parcel Look- up application, also available on-line.

The Public Workshop on the new Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance will take place at the following time and place:

Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Southside Community Center
2959 Lower Wyandotte Avenue, Oroville CA

During this Public Workshop, General Plan 2030 staff will provide a presentation on the new Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map and will accept public comment.

All public comment will be provided to the Butte County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.

"This is a critical step in the Butte County General Plan 2030 process," said Tim Snellings, Development Services Director. "The new Draft Zoning Ordinance implements the Butte County General Plan 2030’s policy and land use designations. By law, the zoning ordinance and zoning map must be consistent with the General Plan."

2) Planning Commission Meeting on Draft Zoning Ordinance and Map

The Butte County Planning Commission will begin a series of meetings devoted to the review of the Draft Butte County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning map. The Series will begin on Thursday, August 5, 2010 with a meeting at the Butte County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Look for additional information concerning this series of meetings on-line at www.buttegeneralplan.net.

3) July 27, 2010 Board of Supervisors Meeting on Butte County General Plan 2030

On Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 1:00 pm, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, the Board of Supervisors will be considering the approval of staff-supported corrections to the General Plan 2030 Land Use Map. The Board will also consider several individual requests concerning General Plan 2030 as follows:

  6. A request to change from an Agriculture (20-acre parcel minimum) to Very Low Density Residential (1-acre parcel minimum) General Plan 2030 designation for an existing subdivision of four, one-acre parcels located in the south Chico area, off Hegan Lane.

This meeting is limited to the discussion, public comment, and consideration of items on the Agenda, which would not negatively affect the General Plan 2030 Environmental Impact Report. No further requests for changes to the General Plan 2030 Land Use Map or General Plan 2030 document will be considered at this meeting or prior to the Board’s consideration of Adoption of General Plan 2030, scheduled for September 29, 2010.
