Hello Everyone:

The Butte County Planning Commission will hold a series of meetings concerning the Draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map that has been prepared in coordination with the Butte County General Plan 2030 update process.

The new Draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map became available for public review on Friday, July 2, 2010.  These documents may be reviewed on-line at www.buttegeneralplan.net , at all Butte County Branch Libraries, and at the Butte County Development Services Department, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville.  In addition, free CDs containing the new Draft Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map became available on July 2 by contacting Development Services at 538-7629, or via email to dbreedon@buttecounty.net.

As a quick reminder, our Public Workshop on the Draft Zoning Ordinance is tonight, from 5-8 pm at the Southside Center in Oroville - MORE INFO.

The Planning Commission Meetings will take place at the Butte County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the following dates. Each Planning Commission meeting will review separate parts of the Zoning Ordinance and various locations on the Zoning Map as noted below:

“This is a critical step in the Butte County General Plan 2030 process,” said Tim Snellings, Development Services Director. “The new Draft Zoning Ordinance implements the Butte County General Plan 2030’s policy and land use designations.  By law, the zoning ordinance and zoning map must be consistent with the General Plan.”
